Day 3: Standing on the Revelation of Truth

“And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true—in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.”
— 1 John 5:20

One profound importance of the gospel is truth. The trinity is truth, the word of God is truth. Everything about the Bible is truth. John 8:32 “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” The knowing is the revelation and that is what sets one free.

Jesus has come and brought knowledge. Pray for the revelation of this knowledge of truth in this retreat season.

Pray that the Holy Spirit will help us in the revelation of this truth.

Pray that we have the desire for this truth.

Pray that this truth will reveal Jesus to us.

Pray that the revelation of this truth will bring freedom to our lives.

John 14: 6 “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

The way, the truth, and the life; a true relationship with God depends on the understanding of these truths. He is the path of righteousness, truth- revelation of God himself in the form of a man who lived on earth and brought us salvation. Life giver by him defeating death, he earned the title of a life giver.

Pray that this truths be revealed to us in this season.

John 8:12 “Once again, Jesus spoke to the people and said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Light and darkness are two opposites that can never live in the same place. Time upon time believers’ attempts to live in these two places, even though their meaning looks so simple. Pray that God will enlighten our hearts and minds to come to that place of total understanding and liberation.

Mathew 11:27 “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

This is an invitation to a true and meaningful relationship that is based on the understanding of terms before one can be part of. Pray that in this season the Son will choose us to reveal himself to us so that an atmosphere of knowledge can be created for us to grow in our relationship with him.

Colossians 1:15-17 “15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”

Who is Jesus? He is everything about God. In him, through him, and for him, everything has been made. We cannot by pass Jesus. We need to know him enough to know God and relate with him. Pray for the understanding of this revelation.

Hebrew 4:12 “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

Pray that nothing will stand in our way this season to prevent the revelation of the word of God to us.

Pray that his word will penetrate the depths of our hearts and help align us with the right way of living

Day 2: Trusting the God Who Answers Prayers

“1 Praise awaits you, our God, in Zion; to you our vows will be fulfilled. 2 You who answer prayer, to you all people will come.”
— Psalm 65:2

If you are like me, I am sure you will not be turning the TV channel to the latest news every morning because it’s always sometime bad without a solution. I have good news for you, turn to the heavenly TV channel, there you will hear good news because God is hearing the cry in your heart. He has an answer for everything that has a name. That is why the psalmist declares a praise that awaits him.

1. Thank God ahead of every request that will be presented before him this retreat season.

1 John 5:14-15 “14 And this is the confidence that we have before Him: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we already possess what we have asked of Him.”

2. It’s a fact, it’s not a scam to present yourself and your request in accordance with his will. Thank God for the confidence we have in him.

Philippians 4:6–7: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

3. What is your petition? Write it down and present it with a thankful heart during this retreat season. Present it with confidence to this prayer answering God.

Psalm 34:4-8 “4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. 5 Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. 6 This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. 8 Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”

4. What are you fearful of? Remember fear is a tool in the hands of satan, don’t give him a chance. Ask God for the grace to seek his love, refuge, his glory alone this season. It is in seeking that we find him and he hears and answers us.

Mathew 7:7-8 “7 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”

5. The beauty of our God is the fact that he has provided us with directions on how to do things. During this retreat season, let us trust God for the grace to ask, seek, and knock at the heavenly doors. He is waiting to receive us in his outstretched hands.

1 Peter 3:12 “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are inclined to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

6. Pray that God’s eyes will not miss us nor his ears to see and to hear us this season.

Romans 8:26-27 “26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words. 27 And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.”

7. Pray for the help of the HolySpirit. Without him, we cannot pray right.

Job 5:12-13 “12 He thwarts the plans of the crafty, so that their hands achieve no success. 13

He catches the wise in their craftiness, and the schemes of the wily are swept away.”

8. Pray that God himself will frustrate every plan of the wicked, the witch, powers of the dark world etc. their hands will not be successful in their plans, their wisdom must be turned to foolishness, their legs, mouth, etc must become slippery and broken. They must drink the cup of their wickedness. They must not raise up to run after us. Their eyes must be blinded.

Day 1

1. Thanking God for his faithful throughout this year until now.

Psalm 100:4-5 “4  Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”

2. Thanking God for his goodness and Love that has kept us.

Psalm 136:1-3 “1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever. 2 Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever. 3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever.”

3. God is inviting us to his throne of grace where mercy and forgiveness is delivered without condemnation. Come in humility and do not hold back.

Hebrew 4:16 “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Micah 6:8 “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

4. Ask the Spirit of God to help us this retreat season. He is the only one who knows what God has in store for us.

1 Corinthians 2:11 “For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.”

5. Pray that our strength will be restored as we wait before him this week of the retreat.

Isaiah 40:31: "But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."

6. Pray that we will find help in his presence this week.

Isaiah 41:10: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

7. Ask God to help us focus on him this week and not on anything or anyone.

Psalm 121:1-2 “1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? 2  My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
