““The sluggard does not plow in the autumn; he will seek at harvest and have nothing.””
““6 Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise. 7 Without having any chief, officer, or ruler, 8 she prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food in harvest.””
Interesting to see how God would use an ant to enable us get the point. The ant understands how and when to prepare. Man is always behind due to not getting ready at the right time or even more so having no understanding about times and seasons of preparation. As we get ready for the program in Malawi, our focus today is to draw ourselves into the awareness of readiness and its importance. We are praying that the church in Malawi will be ready for what God has for them.
Matthew 13:20-22 “20 Some seed fell on the stony ground. That is like a person who hears the message and right away he is glad to hear it. 21 But it does not go down deep in his heart. He believes it for a short time. When trouble or a hard time comes because of the message, he stops believing. 22 Some seed fell among the weeds. That is like the person who hears the message. But he thinks about the things of this world. He wants to get money to be happy. These things push the message out of his heart. No good comes from it.”
Matthew 25: 1-5 “1 At that time the kingdom of heaven will be liketen virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.”
Hebrew 11:7 “By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.”
Matthew 24:42-44 “42 Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
Colossians: 2:8 “See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.”
Luke 12:47-48: “47 And that servant who knew his master's will but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a severe beating. 48 But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.”
